Stipend!
I get a pretty good chunk of change for my internship this summer.
I have already used one fifth of it on a gorgeous comforter from Pottery Barn:

Now, with inspiration from ModCloth and Kate Spade, I am deciding what to spend my remaining money on.
I will put away quite a bit, but I am going to allow myself a back-to-school splurge. Here are some possibilities:

ModCloth

ModCoth

And then I need to buy various cardigans and coloured leggings.
I can’t afford Kate Spade, but actually could buy just one piece. I want everything featured on the website. Especially intriguing to me is the white lace dress, the white cardigan with black details, and the silhouettes created by all the pieces. I love the sleek, shorter pieces as well as the more shapely, flared skirts.
I am completely in love with the Cassie Shirtdress.
I am even more totally in love with this owl bag, not on sale yet and most likely not affordable by Amanda, stipend or not.
Decisions, decisions! I must check F21 for cheaper look alike pieces, and I think a trip to Unique Thrift and a trip to Brooklyn are in order after pay day.
Oh, fall. <3 I’ve never been more excited.

Inspiration for my thrifting trip with Heena and possibly one with the boyfriend, as well.
good girl chic
Today, Heena forced me into not only coming over to her house to take pictures of her, but also to update my blog with photos of us. I must admit, however, that it was fun and that we look quite smashing.
Heena Kamina first:

Couch-Italy
It can be noted that I forgot how to spell couch and Heena needed to help me.
Now for yours truly (and I’m happy to note I’m much less fat in these photos than the previous ones):

T-shirt-Forever21 ; grey ‘working girl’ skirt-Forever21 ; bracelet (Heena’s)-charlotte russe ; shoes-Jessica Simpson (also Heena’s)

Heena literally stood over me while I posted this. I willl admit I had fun though. Thanks Heena <3

Laura Darlington & Daedelus
source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dublab/sets/72157615569914307/
Why I love them:
-Victorian aesthetic
-braided up-do
-flowers in hair
-colors that remind me of a painting of Hawaii my parents own
-tie/vest/shirt pattern combos
-muttonchops done right
-adorable musician couple
-their last name is Darlington. I think legally, too, not just a stage name.
Also, I had the pleasure of meeting Daedelus (unfortunately his wife was not there) at a small, free show. He was super nice, kind of awkward (as all really awesome & hip musicians should be), and an amazing performer. Probably one of the best shows I’ve seen in a log while.
More gorgeous details:

I’d like to point out that his hands are gorgeous, as well as her delicate blue lace elbow gloves & beautiful blue bracelet.

In the Flowers
First fashion-filled post!
This is a floral sun dress I bought at PacSun. I never really shop there and was hesitant to keep the dress, as it is rather beachy and simple for my taste:
For the record, “LOL” will always be used here ironically.
But Heena convinced me it was cute enough to keep, so I styled it up as best I could:

We don’t know how it happened, but a ghost snuck into the photo.

I forgot to accessorize because I was at Heena’s and not at home. Had I thought of it, I probably would have added this wooden bracelet that my boyfriend brought me from India:

Well, I hope you enjoyed my first post! Please stop by again some time, and feel free to comment/shamelessly promote your own blog. I’ll comment back.
Lanky & Lovely
So… I’ve finally sold my soul to the world of fashion blogging. Here goes nothing.
* I’d like to thank my real life best friend Heena from Petite&Chic for inspiring me/helping me to take pictures and come up with a name. *
